Vampirfilm von Park Chan-Wook : Thirst
Neues vom koreanischen Vorzeigeregisseur:
(Quelle kfccinema) We reported earlier that Park Chan-wook's next project will be the long awaited vampire project he hinted about in 2004 when he was doing his segment Cut for Three... Extremes. The Korean Times this morning reported that it was his next project entitled Bat. Korean entertainment site Cine21 and a few others list it as Evil Live. Neither of the titles are catchy, but I am sure a new title will be popping up in the next few months as this gets into production. Nothing really has been revealed about the project, but we have been able to find out that Song Kang Ho has been cast already. Another bit of info comes to us by forum member Khitcher who reveals that Song Kang Ho will be playing a priest who has been infected. Based on early interviews done last year. It is not clear if Song Kang Ho's character has already been infected or if he is slowly becoming a Vampire. Stay tune for more updates as more blood is spilt on this project. Song Kang Ho klingt schonmal gut. imdbFreu mich schon wieder tierisch drauf. |

AW: Vampirfilm von Park Chan-Wook : Bat / Evil Lies (Projekttitel)
Park Chan-Wook Finds His Leading Lady
News on Park Chan-Wook's long overdue and rumored vampire project Thirst became a reality at the beginning of last year with Song Kang Ho set to star. Since then we have been feeding you bits and pieces of news as they slowly came in. Since the beginning of last year we had a rough breakdown of the story thanks to forum member Khitcher. We were only missing one thing, who was going to be our leading lady? A few names were tossed around by our forum members, Kang Hye-jeong, Yeom Jeong-ah, maybe even Kim Hye-Soo? Then at the beginning of this month we found out why Park Chan-Wook was having problems casting his leading lady after all this time. Looks like Thirst could be the goth version of Lust,Caution, and our favorite korean actresses were having second thoughts about taking on this spicy role. Everyone except Kim Ok Bin, who we last saw in the off the wall comedy Dasepo Girl. Currently finishing up Distrubance In Her Ballroom, Kim Ok Bin will jump into the role of 30 something Tea Joo at the end of March for a 9-month shoot. So, what is Thirst actually about? Here is a breakdown. The story finds Korea's leading man, Song Kang-ho, as a much-loved priest who becomes a vampire after a failed medical experiment; he becomes a tortured and depraved soul. Title refers to a craving for sex, blood and love. CJ is pitching the pic as a love story with horror and drama. I know many of us were hoping for a release sometime this year but with a nine month shooting schedule don't expect to see this until sometime in 2009.

DANKE! |

AW: Vampirfilm von Park Chan-Wook : Thirst
Talented actor Sin Ha-gyoon will join famed director Park Chan-wook and fellow actor Song Kang-ho for the film "The Bat". This is Shin's first movie with Park and Song since "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" in 2002.
"The Bat" is a tragic melodrama about how a man who turned into a vampire after an accident falls in love with a married woman. Song will play the man who becomes a vampire. Kim Ok-bin has already been cast as the female lead Tae-joo and Sin's role is of Tae-joo's husband Kang-woo. Now that all main parts have been cast, the filming of "The Bat" is expected to begin in early April. http://www.hancinema.net/sin-ha-gyoo...ok--13123.html geil

AW: Vampirfilm von Park Chan-Wook : Thirst
SYNOPSIS
Sang-hyun is a priest who volunteers his time conducting his ministry to patients in a small town hospital. Although well respected for his strong faith and dedicated service to those around him, he suffers from overwhelming feelings of doubt and despair about living in a world that seems to be drowning in suffering and death. With the hope of saving even one life, he volunteers to participate in an experiment to find a vaccine for the deadly F.I.V. virus and heads to Africa. But the experiment fails, and Sang-hyun is infected with the fatal disease. Surprisingly, however, he recovers completely. News of his miraculous recovery spreads quickly, and devoted parishioners, thinking that he has the gift of healing, flock to his services. Among the visitors are Kangwoo, Sang-hyun’s childhood friend, and his family. Later, Kang-woo invites Sang-hyun to join the weekly mahjong night at his house, and there Sanghyun finds himself dangerously drawn to Kang-woo’s wife, Tae-ju. Suddenly, Sang-hyun relapses. He coughs up blood and dies, only to open his eyes the next day in dire need of shelter from the scorching sunlight: Sanghyun has become a vampire. Initially he feels a new vitality and is excited by his urgent bodily desires, but soon he is disgusted to find himself sucking blood from a comatose patient. After a sinful suicide attempt, he finds himself drawn almost against his will to human blood, and the symptoms of F.I.V come roaring back. Desperately trying to avoid committing murder, he resorts to stealing blood transfusion packs from the hospital.

AW: Vampirfilm von Park Chan-Wook : Thirst
Korean 'Thirst' poster banned
Koreans treat their clergy with reverence -- even if that means upsetting a favorite native helmer. "Oldboy" director Park Chan-wook found out the hard way when a teaser poster for his vampire pic "Thirst" was banned because it depicts a priest in a sexual context. Poster features the figure of a bat, which is the Korean title of the film, using the images of its leading character, a priest-turned-vampire (Song Kang-ho) being strangled by a naked woman (Kim Ok-bin). The ban is the work of the South Korea's Media Rating Board, which has become more strict about the depiction of sexuality these days. The international poster for John Cameron Mitchell's "Shortbus" was banned in February. "Thirst," co-financed by Universal, is due for release in South Korea on April 30; the production team still plans to use the poster as key artwork for marketing outside Korea. http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...&cs=1&nid=2562 naja find das poster eh mistig

Mmh, der Teaser haut mich nicht gerade vom Hocker. Aber die Musik scheint mal wieder genial zu werden, die bekommt man irgendwie nicht mehr aus dem Kopf.
